TTL Residences Opens 2nd Tower at Axia South Cikarang

Jakarta. TTL Residences — a joint venture between the Toyota Tsusho Corporation of Japan and Indonesian property developer Lippo Karawaci — held a soft opening ceremony to mark the start of operations of the second tower at its serviced apartment project in Cikarang, West Java, on Friday (18/03).

The apartment complex, known as Axia South Cikarang, adopts a concept that accommodates Japanese preferences in an effort to attract expatriates from the Land of the Rising Sun who work at the Lippo Cikarang industrial estate and other areas.



Ivan Budiono, chief executive of Lippo Home, a division of Lippo Karawaci, said the Lippo Cikarang industrial estate was "one of the fastest-growing economic hubs" in Cikarang and the Bekasi district, as it serves as a gateway to seven industrial estates in the area.



"It provides the best and has the most strategic location for executives, expatriates and their families [...] as it offers an exceptional and cozy lifestyle near their workplace," he said in his keynote address during the ceremony.



The second tower offers 225 rooms, adding to the existing 180 rooms in the first tower, which opened in September 2014.



TTL Residences president director Takuma Sato said the occupancy rate in the first tower was already approaching 90 percent and he expected to achieve an 80 percent occupancy rate at the second tower within a year.



"In here, we not only hire Japanese people, but also Japanese-speaking Indonesians," Sato said. He explained that the apartment complex offers a very high level of services, which include Japanese-style facilities and services, Japanese-designed rooms, a 24-hour concierge service in the Japanese language, a laundry, a Japanese restaurant called Shion, and a massage parlor and spa. The complex also contains an ofuro, which is a Japanese-style public bath.



TTL Residences was established in April 2013 with Toyota Tsusho owning 51 percent of the company and Lippo Karawaci owning 25 percent. The remainder is equally divided among Toyota Housing Corporation and Tokyu Land Indonesia, a subsidiary of Tokyu Land Group.
